  I used to volunteer here. The staff try their best to take care of all cats and dogs, so I have to give them credit where it's due. However, I tried to adopt a dog here, and the director didn't let me because I am 19 living in an apartment and take very well care of myself. When I first told her I lived in an apartment, she already started to doubt me saying that apartments don't like dogs that bark, which is true but she shouldn't have judged right there, and how would we even know if the dog would bark all the time? She wanted people who have families and a house and (are pretty much wealthy) to adopt the animals. I follow their Facebook page and sometimes I see posts talking about how a dog will be euthanized and "please come save this dog, give this loving dog a family" but you guys only like to let people who live in a house and have lots of money adopt an animal. Since then, I have found a 5 month old beagle/jack Russell in December and he is the best thing that's happened to me.. I do still live in an apartment and he does bark a lot but I am training and working with him on that still. He has plenty of food, water, treats, excercise, is totally healthy and up
  to date with his shots, and of course, receives plenty of love. So please do not judge a potential owner just because they live in an apartment. I know it isn't just me because I have spoken to people who have also been denied because they live in an apartment, including one of my best friends. I love all animals, but please do not waste your time trying to adopt a pet here if you live in an apartment.
